The vegetable garden in Corte Briantea

Curiosity
We could call this photograph “time and memory”. The (biological) time of blossoming, waiting and planning; the shaky if not entirely lost memory of Alzheimer’s patients. However, the title that best emphasises this story is “let’s cultivate life”. The vegetable garden is located on the terrace of the protected “Leopardi” unit, one of the two Corte Briantea units dedicated to dementia patients. It is located in wooden tubs placed at a suitable height so that it is possible to work the soil while sitting in a wheelchair. Giusy is the garden supervisor (the person in the centre of the photo). This year we are harvesting strawberries, herbs and believe it or not, saffron. Life, despite everything, continues to be beautiful.

PS
In fine weather, we also have a snack near the vegetable garden.
